  Christchurch is easily accessible from the north and south by car. It is easy to find and navigate around. Many people choose drive down to Christchurch from the North Island via Wellington (taking their car on the Ferry) transforming their trip into a beautiful scenic car journey. Close

  Christchurch Airport is coated about 15 minutes from the CBD and offers flights to/from all around New Zealand. In an hour you can be in Christchurch from Wellington or an hour and a half from Auckland. Close

  KiwiRail operates a train service from the top of the South Island (Picton) all the way down the East Cost to Christchurch. This service, known as the Coastal Pacific connects people with Wellington via ferry or light plane and is a beautiful, relaxed and convenient way to arrive in Christchurch. This service has recently reopened after being temporarily stopped following the February 22nd Christchurch Earthquake, where low demand (not safety concerns) led to the service being put on hold.
